Juvenile Leinster Indoors
We had a great day up in Athlone when our team headed up to the Juvenile Leinster Indoor Track and Field Championships. We had two athletes from our club there, Daniel Redmond (u15) and Max Murphy (u16).

This was Daniel’s first time running indoors and he truly exhibited the standard of athletics we pride our club on. He first qualified for the u15 Long Jump Final, finishing 5th overall. He then raced the 60m, coming 2nd in his heat and getting to the final, where he came 8th. An amazing way to start your indoor career.

Max was focused in on the u16 1500m. Max’s recent successes in cross country have obviously carried over to the indoors as he ran an exemplary race. Max knocked 16 seconds off his PB and was barely beaten on the line for 3rd place. He’ll be traveling back to the indoor track in a couple weeks for the nationals.

Both of the lads did amazing and should be extremely proud of their runs.
Naas Ten Mile
A sole Strider made the dangerous journey to Kildare to participate in the Naas Ten Mile. Aisling Moran was that Strider, and she ran a superb time on the course. She had an average speed of 5:33 per kilometre, which is amazing to keep up for ten mile. Overall, an amazing run from Aisling, truly did the club proud.

Parkun
We had the usual great show of support at the JFK Parkrun on Saturday morning. Two of our own took the first positions in each gender. John McGrath won the male in a blistering time of 17:58 while Kate Reidy was first woman in a fast 20:37.

Two of our Striders went further afield for their Parkrun Fix, Sandra Young and Stephanie Davis headed to the Wexford Racecourse Parkrun. It’s always great to see so many Striders at the Parkrun each week.
